MIDDLETOWN, CTFriday, March 08, 2019 – Liberty Bank, Connecticut’s oldest bank, is named one of the 2019 ‘World’s Best Banks’ by Forbes, ranking 4th in the United States.

Forbes, in collaboration with the analytics firm Statista, conducted an independent study from a vast sample of more than 65,000 bank customers representing 23 different countries. Through a series of survey questions, customers identified all banks where they have opened checking and/or savings accounts. The participants were also asked to rank following areas: Trust, Terms & Conditions, Customer Services, Digital Services, and Financial Advice. Trust had the highest weight in the United States.

For the first time, Forbes publically released the list on February 28, 2019 at 10 AM EST. Based on customer opinions, the list recognizes the top 415 banks worldwide; from the United States, 60 banks are being awarded with this honor.  This remarkable and one-of-a-kind honor is a direct reflection of long-term satisfaction from Liberty Bank customers in Connecticut.

“On behalf of the entire Liberty Bank team, I want to thank our customers for awarding us with this tremendous recognition,” stated Chandler J. Howard, Liberty Bank President and CEO. "As a Connecticut-based company, we are not only committed to helping our neighbors confidently manage their finances, we are equally committed to creating stronger communities through partnerships across the state. Our dedicated employees will stop at nothing to provide service that’s second to none. They keep customers’ best interests at heart and look for new opportunities to improve our offerings. This recognition speaks volumes about the pride and trust our customers and communities have for the Bank.”

The Forbes listing of the ‘World’s Best Banks’ is based on a series of independent surveys that were conducted without the winners’ prior knowledge. It includes only three banks in Connecticut, Liberty Bank being one and ranking the highest in the state. Final scores, based on customer feedback, ranged from 73.69-88.43. Liberty Bank’s score was 85.4. For the first time, Forbes publically released the list on Monday, March 4. The full list can be found here.
