Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Privacy Notice and why am I receiving this?

A Privacy Notice outlines what personal information is collected by us, how we protect it and what we may share. We are required by federal law to provide a Privacy Notice to customers with consumer accounts, which explains our intentions to share customer information with affiliates and non-affiliates and how you may limit this sharing.

Consumers also have the right to limit some – but not all – sharing of customer information. The Privacy Notice includes details on how we may share customer information and how you can limit sharing. A consumer account means it was opened primarily for personal, family or household purposes, therefore the Privacy Notice and opt out rights do not apply to business or commercial accounts.

What’s an affiliate of Liberty Bank?

An affiliate is a company related by common ownerships or control. Liberty Bank Mortgage Corp., Community Realty Investors, Inc. and Church Street OREO, LLC are affiliates of Liberty Bank.

What’s a non-affiliate of Liberty Bank?

A non-affiliate is any company not related by common ownership or control with Liberty Bank. This means companies that Liberty Bank may partner with (like an insurance company or marketing firm etc.) to offer customers more services and/or new products to enhance your banking experience with us.

Why would Liberty Bank share certain customer information?

We share certain information to give us the ability to continually enhance your banking experience. Information sharing would allow us to offer our customers more services and make them aware of other products that are available to them. It’s also shared to complete normal business purposes.

When is the new Privacy Notice effective for Liberty customers?

May 1, 2020

What does opt-out mean?

It means you can limit the extent to which Liberty Bank can provide your personal financial information to affiliates for everyday business purposes, specifically information about your credit worthiness, for our affiliates to market to you and for non-affiliates to market to you.

What customer information will you be sharing with affiliates and non-affiliates?

The type of information that is shared depends on the product(s) or service(s) you have with us. The information could include Social Security numbers, income, account balances, payment history, credit history, and credit scores.

We just received two privacy notices at home. Why did I receive two forms but we have one account?

If you currently have a joint account, both individuals on the account will receive a Privacy Notice.

Can I call the Bank to opt out?

Yes. You can also visit a branch, complete our Privacy Notice opt-out form above, or send a secure message through online banking. When you opt-out, it applies to all of your accounts at Liberty Bank. You can opt-out at any time and change your privacy preference as many times as you choose.
