Middletown, CT — Liberty Bank, in collaboration with SCORE, the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, and East Hartford Public Library, recently announced that they're partnering to launch a tuition-free Academy for Small Business in East Hartford. The Academy will assist with the creation and growth of new small businesses in Connecticut.
Liberty Bank’s Academy for Small Business offers owners a comprehensive training program. This ten-class curriculum, covering topics such as financial management, recordkeeping, risk management, marketing and tax planning. The East Hartford program will begin on Monday, September 9.
“Small business is at the very heart of a community’s ability to sustain itself,” said Glenn Davis, Vice President, Community Development/CRA Officer. “As a community bank, Liberty Bank is committed to assisting business owners as they get off the ground, stay healthy and grow for years to come.”
Liberty Bank’s Academy for Small Business is an opportunity that’s available on a first come, first serve basis and the class is limited to 20 Connecticut business owners. Participants do not have to be Liberty Bank customers and are entrepreneurs who typically own startup businesses or are interested in the opportunity. After successfully completing all 10 classes, participating business owners may be eligible for a $5,000 line of credit from Liberty Bank.
The Academy also reinforces the commitment that Liberty Bank made to help boost the economy in the East Hartford area and surrounding towns. The Bank is honored and fortunate to work with great partners across the state to help small business owners reach their dreams, succeed and plan for a strong future. This is one of several Academies for Small Business hosted in Connecticut by the Bank since 2016. Other locations included Hartford, Meriden, New Brittan, New Haven, New London, Norwich, and Willimantic.
