Liberty customers Joyce & Jerado Reynolds, President & CEO of Reynolds Welding & Fabrication in Windsor, were recently named the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 2019 Connecticut Small Business Persons of the Year, SBA’s top award.
Reynolds Welding & Fabrication is a family run business based in Windsor, specializing in structural steel cutting and fabrication and welding work for customers in the Northeast. Jerardo, a master welder, learned the trade from his uncle in Jamaica and in New York. Joyce, a Registered Nurse and former Assistant Nursing Director, joined her husband in the business as President and runs the financial operations.
Due to their substantial growth, in 2018, Reynolds Welding & Fabrication secured a SBA 504 commercial mortgage through Liberty Bank and the Community Investment Corporation to purchase a building in Windsor. They also worked with William Curtin, Small Business Banking Officer at Liberty Bank, to secure equipment financing and a working capital line of credit.
With the help of Liberty Bank, Reynolds Welding & Fabrication has gone from a small rented space to a large building of their own, allowing them to increase their capacity to meet present demand and provide for future growth.
“This is great example of a great collaborative effort of Liberty Bank departments and team members working together to provide financing to a growing small business,” said Curtin, who nominated Reynolds Welding & Fabrication.
