Your Responsibility

Your cooperation is vital to maximize the effectiveness of our security measures. Although Liberty Bank is proactive in employing the latest technology to protect your financial information online, there are steps you may take to protect this information and take ownership of your online safety. Below are some steps you should take to protect the privacy of information when you use Liberty Bank's Online Banking:

  • You must use an Internet Browser that supports Secure Socket Layers (SSL). SSL encrypts your data to prevent unauthorized persons from gaining access to it. If you are having difficulty signing on to Online Banking, you may need to upgrade your browser to one that supports SSL, such as a current version of Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
  • Install anti-virus software on your computer and run a network scan frequently with your anti-virus software to detect and remove questionable files.
  • DO NOT share your Liberty Bank Online Banking password with anyone you do not want to have access to your accounts. Anyone who has your password has the same access to your accounts that you have. If you suspect an unauthorized person has obtained your password, please contact an Internet Banking Consulatant at (888) 570-0773 and change it immediately.
  • When you are finished using Liberty Bank's Online Banking, be sure to log off the system before visiting other web sites.
  • If other people have access to your computer, clear your browser's cache in order to remove copies of web pages that may have been stored temporarily on your system. Refer to your browser's Help file for instructions on clearing your cache.
  • If you send Liberty Bank an email, DO NOT include personal or account information. Email sent via the Internet is potentially able to be read in transit by others.

In general, be careful of any Internet site with which you are not familiar. Avoid sending information such as your Social Security Number, credit card numbers or bank account information unless you are in a secure site like Online Banking. When visiting unfamiliar web sites, be particularly aware of small windows that may randomly appear on the screen. If you are not comfortable with a newly created window, close it immediately. The safest next step would be to exit and restart your browser.

For additional resources on safeguarding your online information, please review the Identity Theft Protection section of our web site and Privacy Notice. If you have any questions on Liberty Bank's security and privacy practices, please call an Internet Banking Consultant at (888) 570-0773.
